Guide to clearer skin: How to get rid of dark spots?

I’ve suffered with this skin issue all my life. I know what it feels like to not go outside the house without makeup because you don’t want people to see these imperfections, or worse, judge you by it. I’m going to tell you my step-by-step guide to get rid of these suckers. This is what works for me, it might not necessarily work for you.

Step 1: Wear sunscreen! This may not sound important and I get that. I once heard this saying, “If you don’t wear sunscreen your face will be filled with wrinkles by the time you’re 30.”

The sun is not your best friend. Not only can it age your face, but it can darken your dark spots.

It happened to me, after spending months of lightening it. The summer came around and before I knew it my spots were darker, so dark I thought they were new ones. So this is a crucial step to not skip.

Step 2Face masks! These are great for relaxing but there are so many that help lighten scars. Two of these throughout the week will really help speed up the process.

One good mask recipe is honey, lemon, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Just a teaspoon of each. But be careful with the lemon, it can help lighten your scars but don’t use it too frequently or else it can mess with your skin’s pH balance.

I also love the “Nip+Fab Glycolic Instant Fix Mask”. But overall aloe has been the best in helping to clear up my scars and acne in general.

The actual plant, though you can get it at your grocery store, especially if you’re on a budget, is only about $1. Just rub some on before bed and wash it off in the morning.

Step 3Exfoliate! This will show the biggest results. Just use a simple scrub brush you can find online and a cleanser of your choosing, or even an exfoliating cleanser.

This will help shed that layer of dead skin to reveal that new layer of skin. Over the course of about a month you should start seeing results.

I know that this may cause irritation in the beginning, causing maybe some new acne, or even irritation bumps, but this is normal. In that case I recommend applying aloe overnight, it should help with the redness and overall irritation on your skin.

I hope I provided you with helpful tips and I look forward to seeing your fresh new skin. Good luck.
